Quillon Law acts for sanctioned British national

Quillon Law represents Mr John Ormerod, a British national who was designated by the UK Government under the Russia Regulations in May 2025.

As a British national living in the UK, Mr Ormerod’s designation continues to have a significant impact on him and his family.

Of his designation, Mr Ormerod has said:

“I have always opposed Russia’s war against Ukraine.

I recognise that anyone carrying on business that benefits the Russian energy sector, which is a Russian sector of strategic significance, may risk being sanctioned irrespective of whether their activity is lawful or not.

I have not done any business that benefited a Russian sector of strategic significance since the transactions that resulted in my designation and I will not do so again.

I will also not engage professionally with anyone I know to carry out business in a Russian sector of strategic significance.

Being designated has had a devastating impact on me and my family. I encourage others to learn from my experience and avoid any actions that may support the Russian energy sector or other sectors of strategic significance.”
